**Concert Overview** This program brings together four masterworks for cello and piano, spanning the Romantic and early Modern eras. Beethoven's **Cello Sonata No. 4 in C Major, Op. 102** marks a turning point in his late style — introspective, harmonically adventurous, and deeply personal. Schubert's **Arpeggione Sonata** was originally written for a now-extinct guitar-cello hybrid instrument. Today it is most beloved in its cello arrangement, showcasing Schubert's gift for lyrical, song-like melody. Debussy's **Cello Sonata in D Minor** is a compact yet powerful work, full of impressionistic color and surprising wit. Written near the end of his life, it reflects both fragility and creative freedom. Chopin's **Cello Sonata in G Minor, Op. 65** was his final published work — a deeply heartfelt piece that balances the cello's singing tone with Chopin's signature pianistic poetry. Together, these four sonatas offer a rich journey through the emotional and stylistic range of the cello repertoire.
