About this show

**Something Is Happening** Imagine the kind of human being we might encounter in the not-so-distant future β€” one where humanity has achieved a perfect interface with superintelligent AI, merging human and machine into something beyond either alone. Choreographer Kim Gwan-ji is one of the most closely watched figures in Korean contemporary dance, and the first-ever winner of the Changmu Prize in the Performing Arts category. His work has long explored the ritual quality of theater, the playful energy of communal gathering, and the "liveness" of performance itself β€” drawing attention to the elements that usually stay in the shadows of the stage. His new work, *Killing Hierarchy*, grows out of a simple but profound question: *What does it truly mean to experience a performance?* Built on the intersection of ritual, play, and live action, the piece places audience and performers in the same time and space β€” becoming, in itself, a liminal space\*. The phenomenon has already begun. You can remain in your own world and simply witness it β€” or you can step into this new world and meet it head-on. The choice is yours. --- \* *Liminal space* comes from the Latin word *limen*, meaning "threshold." It refers to a transitional space between what was and what is yet to come β€” a place where something is just about to happen, belonging nowhere and everywhere at once.
