When Rothbart tries to tear them apart by disguising his daughter Odile as Odette, the prince is deceived. But in the end, the power of true love prevails. A live narrator guides the audience through the story, so there's no need to decode mime or prior knowledge of ballet. Perfect as a first ballet experience for children and adults alike. --- **Synopsis** **Prologue – The Coming-of-Age Ceremony** Prince Siegfried celebrates his coming of age and receives a bow as a gift. Spotting swans in flight, he heads to the lake with his friends for a hunt. **Act 1 – By the Lake** Deep in the forest, Siegfried is attacked by wolves and Rothbart's forces, but is rescued by the swans. He then witnesses a swan transform into the beautiful Princess Odette and instantly falls in love. Learning that only a vow of eternal love can break her curse, he pledges his heart to her. **Act 2 – The Palace Ball** Siegfried awaits Odette at a grand ball. While guests and friends celebrate, Rothbart arrives with his daughter Odile, who has been made to look exactly like Odette. Fooled by the resemblance, Siegfried announces he will marry Odile and swears his eternal love — just as Rothbart intended. Rothbart and Odile then reveal their true selves and vanish, leaving Siegfried heartbroken. He rushes to the lake in despair. **Act 3 – Eternal Love** Betrayed by Siegfried's false vow, Odette is doomed to remain a swan forever. Siegfried races to find her and beg forgiveness. Though fate has been cruel, the two face it together — and ultimately defeat Rothbart through the strength of their love, sealing their bond for eternity.
