## Performance Introduction **Swan Song** is an early one-act play by Anton Chekhov that explores the themes of human vanity, artistic purpose, and the fleeting nature of life. It was his personal wish to perform this role when he reached the age of 78 — the same age as the character Svetlovidov — and that time has now come.
