**2026 Gonggan-gyeol Young Artist Series: *Ripples of Gyeol* — Vol. 4** *Ripples of Gyeol* is Gonggan-gyeol's signature concert series dedicated to discovering and championing emerging young artists — those who bring a first-trembling sincerity and a voice all their own, over polished credentials. For this fourth installment, pianist Geun-young Kim takes the stage to explore the full expressive range of the piano — from the structural vitality of the Classical era to the vivid fantasy of Romanticism. The program opens with Beethoven's **Piano Sonata No. 3**, a early masterwork brimming with precision and energy. This is followed by Chopin's **Barcarolle**, painted in rich, swelling lyricism. The second half features Schumann's **Carnaval**, a kaleidoscopic suite that brings a carnival of human characters and inner worlds to life across the keys. This performance takes place on **August 15th, Korea's Liberation Day**, making it a particularly meaningful occasion. True to the spirit of the day, a portion of ticket sales will be donated to underserved communities and worthy social causes — a reflection of pianist Kim's heartfelt commitment to giving back.
