About this show
The third edition of **Jang Han-na's Daejeon Grand Festival** is here, bringing together talented young musicians full of passion and energy. This year's theme, **"Joy of Music,"** explores how music accompanies us through every emotion and chapter of life. Artistic Director Jang Han-na, who has led the festival for three years, presents a final season that distills her artistic achievements and musical philosophy. Following past themes of "Be Yourself!" and "Immortal Beloved," the festival concludes its trilogy by celebrating the pure joy that music brings β with the most dazzling lineup yet, featuring rising stars of the classical world alongside outstanding local musicians. --- **Part 1 β Close Harmony** The Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble **The King's Singers**, widely regarded as the world's finest a cappella group, takes the stage. The program traces the group's journey from their early roots to international stardom, moving through British folk songs, pop classics, and orchestral transcriptions β all reimagined for six voices. Highlights include arrangements of Queen, Neil Young, The Beach Boys, and The Beatles, alongside Rossini's beloved *Barber of Seville* Overture. **Part 2 β Let's Misbehave** The second half invites audiences into an imaginary jazz club, paying homage to the icons, adventurers, and rule-breakers of the jazz world. Featuring specially arranged works by Cole Porter, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and more, the program follows how great musicians pushed boundaries to create something new and magical. The King's Singers will also perform Korean songs in their own arrangements. --- *The full program will be revealed on the day of the performance at the artists' request. Individual pieces are subject to change.*
