About this show
The third edition of **Jang Han-na's Daejeon Grand Festival** is here. This year's theme, *Joy of Music*, celebrates music as a lifelong companion that embraces the full range of human emotion. Artistic Director Jang Han-na, who has led the festival since its founding, closes her final season with a program that distills her artistic vision and musical philosophy. Following previous editions themed around *Be Yourself!* and *Immortal Beloved*, the festival arrives at its grand finale by embracing the pure joy that music brings. Expect the most dazzling lineup yet β a gathering of the most acclaimed young classical musicians of our time, joined by outstanding local performers. Headlining the concert is **Tine Thing Helseth**, one of the world's leading trumpeters from Norway, praised for her lyrical, soul-stirring tone. She presents a rich and varied program spanning Renaissance madrigals to the familiar jazz idioms of Gershwin and Kurt Weill. Throughout the evening, the ensemble size shifts fluidly β from solo to duet to brass sextet β showcasing the full expressive range of brass instruments. Local brass musicians also join the stage, adding warmth and depth to what promises to be a radiant evening. --- **PROGRAM** Nadia Boulanger β *Cantique* Edvard Hagerup Bull β *Perpetuum Mobile* Henri Tomasi β *Suite for Three Trumpets* 1.
