About this show

**Chang Han-na's Daejeon Grand Festival β€” Third Edition** The curtain rises on the third installment of the Daejeon Grand Festival, a celebration of gifted young musicians performing with passion and artistry. This year's theme, *Joy of Music*, explores how music accompanies us through every emotion and chapter of life. Artistic Director Chang Han-na, who has led the festival across all three seasons, closes her tenure with a program that brings together her artistic vision and musical philosophy. Following previous seasons themed around *Be Yourself!* and *Immortal Beloved*, the festival arrives at its grand finale β€” a joyful embrace of everything music has to offer. Expect the most dazzling lineup yet, featuring rising stars of the classical world alongside outstanding local musicians. **Featured Concert: Kim Sehyun, Piano** Rising star pianist Kim Sehyun takes center stage in a recital that showcases both lyrical elegance and breathtaking virtuosity. The program opens with the light-footed charm of Schubert's *12 German Dances*, followed by the dazzling technical brilliance of Chopin's *12 Γ‰tudes, Op. 25*. After intermission, Kim performs Chopin's beloved *Piano Concerto No. 1* in a string orchestra arrangement, allowing the piano's voice to shine with exceptional clarity. Joining him is the Ditto Chamber Orchestra, known for their consistently polished and assured performances at the festival. --- **Program** - Schubert: 12 German Dances, D. 790 - Chopin: 12 Γ‰tudes, Op. 25 - *Intermission* - Chopin: Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11 *(String Orchestra Version)*
