Walking Ganghwado's Tragic History Trail

Crossing Choji Bridge, the route from Chojijin through Deokjinjin and Gwangsungbo all the way to Gap-got Dondae takes you through sites of fierce battles fought against foreign invasions during the late Joseon period, including the French Campaign of 1866 and the American Expedition of 1871. At Chojijin, pine trees still stand bearing the scars of cannonball strikes from those turbulent times. This journey follows Ganghwa Nadeulgil Course 2, offering a step-by-step exploration of Ganghwado's historic military defense sites.
